Nutrition: Burning Fat with Healthy Treats

If you are trying to lose or maintain weight, it will be interesting to know that there are some “special” foods that actually work to help burn fat. Moreover, adding more of them to your diet make your life sweeter and delicious.
Hot Chili Pepper
Chili pepper whether fresh or dried have a very high thermogenic effect, which helps you scorch calories as you chew. The mechanism is very simple, while eating; your body temperature increases, at the same time your metabolism speeds up, too, helping to burn calories faster.
Green tea
Drinking four cups of green tea a day helped people shed more than six pounds in eight weeks. Some experts also recommend taking your tea hot, because it takes longer to drink, slowing your calories intake and providing a soothing experience.
Citrus fruits
Oranges, lemons and grapefruits are packed with vitamin C, which in addition to fighting colds and flues help burn fat. Moreover, they are full of soluble fibre, which take longer to digest; therefore, having half a grapefruit or an orange as a glass or citrus juice before a meal may help fill you up, so you eat fewer calories during the meal.
Whole grains
Bear in mind that the body burns twice as many calories breaking down whole foods, especially those rich in fibre like brown rice and oatmeal, than processed ones.
Chicken and fish
It takes more energy to digest high protein food than it does while breaking down carbs and fats. Plain chicken breast without skin or fish that is rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids as salmon, herring, and other fatty fish are the best option. Besides that, fish oil also increase your thermogenesis, which means you will burn more calories per day.
Apples
Apples are a great fat-burning fruit because they are high in fibre. It is recommended to consume whole fruits rather than fruit juice. Not only do you get more fibre, but this also takes longer to ingest and actually burns a few calories while chewing, as opposed to gulping down juice
